Human Foal Has Arrived!

My Little Human has arrived!
Finally!  Our Human Foal has arrived and it's fallen to me The Mini to introduce her :-)

Can you believe who came to visit me this morning?! It was My Little Human!

Human Foal decided to grace us with her presence on Saturday 10th May at 2.03am (hmmm early riser are we?) at a decent mini mule sized 7lb 15oz.

We have decided to name her Lara Imogen Patience, of course us Muleteers had first approval of names and have been sounding board extraordinaire over the last few months of choosing.... we particularly like Patience as it's what us long ears are good at teaching you humans ;-)

FH, MH and our new playmate are all doing fabulously and all is well.  Our little Human Foal came out to see us earlier, and here are some pics (sorry there are rather a lot but what better excuse?!)

Who is this?!

We knew she'd arrived!

First approval belongs to The Mini!

Dragon approves HF's ears... although there may be an extra set?!

The Mini stakes his claim

The Mini has something to say to 'My Little Human'...

"I.....

......LOVE......
.......YOU!

 Would you like a ride?!

OK, maybe a little too soon but a quick lie across my back with FH is good enough for now!

Her ears are a little on the small side but heyho ears aside we love her still and Roller is pleased that he isn't the only one with weeny ears ;-)

Roller in his inimitable fashion stayed focussed on.... eating and promises to appear for foal snuffles later, secretly I think he is devolving HF duty to me - yippee! I, The Mini do hereby stake my claim to this Human Foal and promise to teach her all I know.... especially mischief!

Spot the baby?!
MH also made sure that he and My Human Foal inspected some of her future duties like filling haynets, inspecting the hedgerow for yummy cow parsley and stomping in mud.  Well done MH, always good to start them young...

Haynet duty....

Get used to mud HF, there's plenty here in your new kingdom
Just behind you is the Cow Parsley little one, yummy to eat :-)
So dearest little Lara we can't wait to play with you, snuffle you, get you muddy, carry you, teach you the best muleteer fun tricks in the world and be your bestest friends.

Love Always,
Your Muleteer Brothers and Sisters xxx x xx

Roller's Philosophical Friday: Patience

Our Human Foal is definitely on mule time!  If there's one thing living with those long ears should have taught us all it's the value of patience.... things will happen in their own sweet time and trying to rush will only make the wait harder.

I have been dreaming of my new rider to be this week and taking heart from the wisdom of others, here are some of my favourite quotes for this most waiting of Fridays!

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have patience.  Everything is difficult before it is easy.
Saadi

Patience is not the ability to wait but how you act while you're waiting.
Joyce Meyer

Sometimes the fastest way isn't always the best. Sometimes the best things in life take a little while.
Emily Beth

Patience can be bitter but her fruit is always sweet.
Habeeb Akande

You can chase a butterfly all over the field and never catch it.  But if you sit quietly in the grass it will come and sit on your shoulder.

Have a lovely weekend friends, thank you for your good wishes and thoughts, they are all very much appreciated!  We'll keep you posted on progress :-) xxx

Eviction Notice: Issued…..

…… and thoroughly ignored!

Come on Human Foal, you are now officially late (yes, yes we know this is nothing new in this household) and The Whale is getting impatient and grumpy and so are we! We're bored of waiting now…. it's been a long 9 months…..

We are waiting for you to arrive so that we can all play, the weather's good, the grass is green and we're ready to entertain you…. so what do you say?  How about coming out to say hi?  We know it's nice and toasty warm in your barn and you are happy demanding ice cream and blueberries but we got plans.

We got plans for rides and walks and teaching you all the best mischief, Dragon would also like to borrow a slimmer version of FH for a ride or two soon…. we have a feeling FH might quite like that too.

So there we go, our plea, may it fall on your mule sized ears (we can hope right?!), out you come, what are you waiting for - there's fun to be had ;-)

Pull The Tail on The Dog….

Greetings Puppeteers!  Today I'm going to tell you all about my new favourite game…. it's a variation on tug of war and chase me.

So the first step is to take a firm hold of the labrador's tail, it's just asking for a tug isn't it?!

And then pull….. whilst ignoring the humans shouting at you to be nice!

Try not to be too put off by the eau de labrador, an acquired taste!

Go back in for some more pulling to try and coax the Cloth Dog in to action! Ensure wild eyes to impress the humans ;-)

Hooray the fearsome Cloth Dog has finally given in!  Don't worry fans the teeth are all for show.

Oh yes!  Chase me, chase me!  I can always win at this game!

What a great way to entertain myself…. hmmm the humans say I'm a naughty pooperama, I think this means they find me funny?  As for my Cloth Dog friend well he forgave me and secretly I'm sure he enjoyed the game ;-)

Have a wagtastic weekend friends! xxx

Masters of Distraction....

We Muleteers are carrying out the important job of distraction at the moment.... the humans are awaiting our new Human Foal and, well, it is a long wait!  So we have been doing what we do best, providing cuteness, entertainment, laughs and plenty of distraction in all the ways we know how.....

We're always happy to lend a listening ear... some rather larger than others!

Every opportunity for itchy scratchy, of course we didn't enjoy this at all!

Lots of grooming time for the Roller Polar who is looking a little moth eaten!

Sun kissed cuteness, who can resist these big brown eyes and mulificent ears?

Doggy dynamos!

And a guardian Angel that won't leave his mistress' side.... he definitely knows something's up! No wonder he's going grey having FH to look after.

Some of us are taking the distraction tactics less seriously than others and are rather resting on the job...

But then raised their game from the sublime to the ridiculous.... she did get down safely after climbing on the roof again!

And when all this waiting gets too tiring Dragon is always happy to lend her back as a leaning post!

We think FH might be dreaming of being able to ride again soon.....

Whenever distraction is required we'll certainly be available!  Wishing you all a happy week ahead :-)

Love Knows No Size!

Love is in the air at Muleteer HQ!  It would seem that a certain Dragon lady is feeling frisky… and itchy and has decided that I, The Mini am her beau of the moment.   Well I may be small in stature but I am ever willing to dole out the love to my 'big bird' as I affectionately call her…. (for my non-UK friends a 'bird' is a tongue in cheek term for a lady friend!)

Don't worry my friends, she may look like she's eating me with those monster teeth but we're actually giving each other a mule style massage, so nice at this time of year when you're all itchy and scratchy, it does wonders for the complexion!

Uh oh it looks like we've been rumbled, ok, ok FH yes I still love you too and I know I'm cheating just a little but Dragon does give a firmer massage than you! Although I have to say it would be nice if Dragon learnt to stand down the slope not up it, when you're vertically challenged you need all the help to reach you can get :-(

There's only one thing when you're this small, the view from below can sometimes be a little odd, I seem to see a lot of the underside of Dragon's chin… at least it's a pretty chin ;-)
