Mule Racing

Ready for Mule Racing?  Who will be the victor in today's high stakes race, winner gets a carrot!

Hmmm what's this it looks like Roller is taking an early lead…. but his ears are too short, we may have an impostor!

He's off, there's no stopping this competitor, and look he does it with style!

But wait there appears to be a problem, oh dear this runner has decided it's too much hard work, he needs a lie down…

And roll!

Looks like Dragon Mule is taking the lead… she's passed Roller on the outside narrowly missing him.

And she's in to her stride, looks like a sure winner to us.

But wait!  What's this?  It looks like there's a late push from The Mini.

He's catching, watch those little legs go!

Oh No!  Disaster!  Dragon has taken a wrong turning and has been overtaken by The Mini, a terrible mistake on the part of the Dragon Mule!

The Mini looks like he's got this one sewn up!

Nothing quite says 'nah, nah, nah, nah, nah', like the whites of your eyes ;-)

But Dragon's gaining again!

One last burst of Mini speed needed!

And he's over the finish line and coasting, he's done it!

The crowd goes wild!  The first past the post poses for photos in the winner's paddock!

But wait, what's this?  It seems that Roller has woken up and thinks the race is still on…. come back here you pesky pony!

Oh dear, he missed the whole thing, he's a little miffed, he's going for gymnastics instead ;-)

Gosh that was fun, must be time for a rest now??

Wonderful Weekend

What a wonderful weekend was had by all!  Let me tell you all about it.... have you got a minute or two to spend with us Muleteers?

Let me tell you about the fun I had!

There was lots of chilling out and doing things that we all like, all topped off by sunshine which isn't bad for the first day of September :-)  So here's a quick resume of our fun and frolics!

Work, Work and More Work

Dragon is soooo happy because she has been working (which in her mind = pleasure) a lot this week, four times in one week, good job Dragon has two riders in FH and Smiley Human!  Lovely potters around the lanes, FH was happy this Sunday morning even though she did get up very early.... apparently it's the best time of day to ride Dragon and appreciate the best view in the world.... something to do with those mulificent ears?

Probably.... the best view in the world!

Dragon's ears are starting to get rather fluffy, the sleek lady is turning in to a fluffy one... best not tell her that though... she will breathe fire else.

In true Dragon style she celebrated a job well done by munching the local tree branches!

Reunion

When she got home we had a reunion over a snack.  How many ears can you fit in one shot?

Grocery Delivery!

Then we had a grocery delivery from our friendly farmer.  Roller was busy checking out the quality, honestly he wasn't trying to munch it or nothing....

Mini Racing

I heard all the commotion and came running, FH has set up this track grazing thingy so in honour of it being a track I have made it in to a Mini Racetrack!  I love it!  My cornering abilities are legendary, FH closes her eyes every time I do this.... I think it's cause she sooo excited?

It's a Dogs Life

On the other side of the fence the Cloth Dog was trying out his latest look of exasperation.... if he gets the look just right he gets food and / or attention... he is the master of this, I must learn and try harder if this is the result.  GH says that Murph is the master of 'begging with style' we'll see about that I think I could excel at this too!

Look in to my woeful eyes... all this could be solved by food or strokes!

The puppyteer is still a little broken (not that you'd know it) and has been busy stealing FH's clothes again.... I think he has secretly been jealous of my shield of steel rug and decided to get himself some clothes too?

The puppyteer is also very pleased with himself as he has a sparkly new 'big boy' collar.  Hmmm I'd like one of those..... FH is rather fond of bugs so Milo is sporting a bugtastic collar with a ladybug, dragonfly and bee, somehow it seems to suit him?  

After a busy day us Muleteers need to get our rest.  Some us like to snooze on the job (guess we'll let her off after four rides).

While others stay on guard duty.... albeit sitting down.

Impressing the Boys!

Must buck and get hind hooves above my head..... must gallop from a standing start..... must gallop at full speed looking like a racing mule..... must dodge flying mini mule feet..... hmmm now that was not on my list of how to impress the boys!!

That naughty mini mule has been showing off again Muleteers, he has been insisting on busting some rather elegant moves and showing off to his fans, honestly that creature has got the biggest ego for such a small man!  Hmmmm FH calls it small man syndrome, what does she mean??

So I thought it should be my turn to show off some moves.  FH has informed me that new to the stud market will be the unbeaten and rather handsome (even if his ears are too short) thoroughbred Frankel.  Apparently he's never lost a race, is faster than any competitor on the flat and has earned his humans millions of carats?  FH says that it is going to cost about £100,000 for a lady to go on a date with him.... I ask you muleteers is any man worth that?  FH says that as I'm a mule I might get a discount as his dating will be futile anyway, apparently I'd get the fun without the consequences.... I have no idea what FH is talking about!  So my plan is to save FH some carats and make myself irresistible to the boys, that way I'm sure they'll be soooo impressed there'll be no charge :-)

My first maneouvre is the kick my heals up over my head, what do you think?  FH was rather alarmed at this move, she seems to think she wouldn't be able to stay on if I tried it with her on board..... best keep perfecting your sticky bum FH!

Next is the standing start, don't I look like I'm ready for business muleteers??

Here I am at full stretch, please note muleteers I am at my fluffiest at the moment and it makes me look a little ahemmm portly?  I'm sleek and trim underneath the fluff I promise....

But wait what is this???  It would seem that The Mini is trying to thwart my plans for impressing the boys, I think he may be a little jealous but this really may be taking it too far Mini....

I really don't like mini mule hooves in my face!

Come here you pesky mini mule, we'll see who's got the biggest hooves!!

Oh muleteers I ran out of puff and couldn't put that naughty mini mule in his place.  Maybe he's just showing he cares and doesn't want me going off with a short ears??  Hmmmm  oh well I think I'm a little tired out after my catwalk display, maybe next time I'll persuade FH to paint my nails and do my hair just in case Frankel comes by?  'Til next muleteers, any tips on how to impress the boys most gratefully received (but don't tell MH he may ground me and scare off any of my future boyfriends.....)

Yippee!!  I'm a Mini Mule on the edge!!  Who said mini mules can't gallop, buck, collect, piaffe and look amazing?

Here I am showing off my amazing good looks with Dragon, the humans looked on chuckling as Ro-Land hid behind FH, he didn't want to join in the fun - I think he was still half asleep! I hope you like my pictures, oops I think Dragon and I may have made a mess of the paddock..... oh well plenty more mud pies to be made this winter muleteers and boy did it ever make the humans happy with me :-)
