Enough Rain Now….

OK Mother Nature, we like a little sprinkle from your watering can and a soft cooling breeze from your fan every now and again but we're really OK now thanks…. we've kinda had enough rain and wind in the last few days to last us many weeks at least.

We are all confined to the stables and getting grumpier by the minute

There is neighbourly bickering breaking out with the boredom…. that Dragon is pesky and won't share her hay through the fence, why does she get more hay than us, we only get a bit and then to the boring straw….

The garden path is like a scene from a river runs through it with the yard a close second, these were taken when the rain had stopped :-(

I tried to brave the rain by pottering outside but then discovering mini mules are not waterproof really. I swiftly inserted myself back in the barn where its dry.

And what about Roller?  Hmmm well as usual Roller is staying toasty in the warm.

At least us mules can stay at home, the humans have discovered the perils of the weather whilst foraging for Christmas treats for us (and them!)  The roads to home are turning in to rivers and there are branches everywhere.  We are managing to send this in between another power cut… might be a dark night!

Thankfully everyone is now firmly home for Christmas and we have food a plenty for the break, we don't need to worry about drink as Mother Nature is providing a bounty of fresh water!

We hope all our friends are staying safe, it seems that there is bad weather all over; rain and wind in England and Ireland, snow and rain in the US and Scotland and deep snow in Canada. Is anyone's weather OK?  Stay safe, warm and dry friends at this festive time of year!

And have no fear there will be some 'sunny' pics here in time for Christmas, a little Christmas cheer will grace your screens courtesy of us Muleteers very soon…. as long as the power stays on long enough! :-)

    1. Guess room service isn't too bad…. I even get to stay in my room while the maid makes the bed, she tries to shoo me out but I ain't for moving so she sweeps under my tummy, oh the indignity! Alas the sun has shone this morning, thank goodness!

  4. I am glad you are safe and sound. We had freezing rain here in Montreal, but thankfully not as bad as Toronto! They had a serious ice storm there and many are without power. Sweet pics, as always. Merry Christmas to you all!

  7. We're plenty wet here too, know just how you're feeling. Wondering if long ears don't like rain? The neighbor donks all say in their sheds watching me stand in the rain!

    1. Long ears do not 'do' rain that's for sure… we are inside at the first sign of the wet stuff and we can attest to the fact that our donkey cousins are even worse. Roller is the only rain goer amongst us…. it seems he is turning mule like though as even he is indoors more than not at the moment. Stay dry and cosy xxx

  8. Oh please don't drive through that water over the road! We have so many accidents that are bad from people who do that. I am so glad your humans are safe and sound.
We had an ice storm then a weak snow storm.
    We are safe and dry.
    Freeze dried.

    1. The water is terrible isn't it? Thankfully there are safe spots to get through and we know the short cuts. When it rains here it all comes of the hills in droves… the joys (and otherwise) of a country life! Stay safe, dry and warm!

  9. Oh dear - we have had an unusually DRY winter so far on BC's gulf islands but of course that means the water table has dropped, nice now but a challenge for the garden come summer. A toss up for sure! The donkeys are out and about but bored as I've had another busy stint. Best of the season Muleteers - may you stay warm and dry and happy! Ears ... forward!!!
