Mule Agility

Greetings Muleteers!  Well what fun I had this weekend.  I knew something was up when a mule mobile arrived and I was shown inside.  Yes, yes, been there, seen that, done that, where are we going, when are we going?  Well the humans kept me waiting for another day..... sigh!

Eventually after much faffing around on their part we were ready for the off.  I entered my mule mobile straight away, the flight mule attendant brought my in transit snack of a carrot and off we set.

Gosh MH you do drive like an old lady.... actually that's fine as it means I can balance easy and eat my hay, this is great, if I travel I gets hay not straw - yippee!

Here we are.... woohoo, have you seen all that grass, my goodness me, I have come for a Dragon sized picnic.

Well it seems that FH had other ideas.... she appears to think that we are here for a training day?  Apparently she thinks she is training me to do Horse Mule Agility with a group of other equnes and their humans, I think I am training her to do Mule Human Agility.  Whatever, I'm sure we'll figure out who's in charge.

After lots of showing off to my new fans (they was amazed at my mulificent, good looks and willingness to show my human up ;-) it was time to tackle some obstacles.

First up was the curtain thingy, I went through no problems, I was so quick the photo does not show my prowess... Here I am mostly concerned with the grass not the curtain, looks tasty!

Next up was the hoopy thing, yep I went through and over that quick too and the camera thing didn't catch me..... errmmm FH look at the grass..... come to think of it there is a theme here in these pics??

Then off to 'Scarey Corner', why is this scarey?  That's right FH you lead the way and I'll follow like a good muletta should, someone has even left me a helpful sign for directions :-)

Me and FH is rebels though and decided to go the wrong way round this one way system, just in case you didn't get my best side on camera!

Then on to some other obstacles, first I had to walk across a wooden bridge and through some barrels and over a tarpaulin, I was so speedy the camera didn't catch me, needless to say I was teaching FH some real agility tricks, in between there was a bit of grass munching - yum!  It was even better because our trainer insisted that me eating grass was good as it kept my brain happy.  I like this trainer she gets my need for feed!

Next up is the podium, I think this should be renamed Mule Mound.  I gots my little, itty, bitty muley hooves up there as quick as I could, no place I'd rather be than up high!  FH was well pleased with me.

In the spirit of fairness I wanted to give my back hooves a chance too, but then the urge to eat got too much..... it's ok though mules can multi task!

Then there was some of that ground worky stuff where I had to go backwards, bend round poles and trot next to FH (she's slow but I tried my best not to overtake, it would not have been sporting).

The human was definitely getting better with this agility thing, we'll have her jumping through hoops in no time.

Just one last thing FH, how about the grass eating obstacle?  Can we tackle that now?  If I can just get my head down another couple inches I'll complete that task.

It was time to go way too quickly but alas I had eaten enough grass to brag to the minis about, had taught FH some moves, had conquered every obstacle put in front of me and made loads of new equine and human friends - not bad for a day's fun.

So when are we coming again FH?? That was quite fun, although I'm ready for a snooze now!

Sunny Days Are Here Again!

Synchronised grazing in the sun - top pastime!
The sun is shining here at Muleteer HQ and we have been having the most lovely time here, we have had sunny days for over two weeks now.

Us mules love the heat, we are part desert animal so this is our idea of heaven!  When the sun shines we apply ourselves to those sunny day tasks.

Obviously the most important is.... eating.  Here we are trying out our synchronised grazing - pretty good hey?

And then it was time to apply myself to sunny rolling, lovely.

Wherever I go there is always a little shadow.... my little kitty cat is always there keeping an eye on me.... honestly you'd think she was soft on me or something?

With a rearview this fine maybe you can see why?  The weather has been breezy today so I am without my shield of steel, pesky midges can't fly in the wind - hah! It's so nice to feel the sun on my back and the breeze in my coat.

Always time for a bit of chillin' with my pal, couple of good rear views there hey ladies?

Hang on a minute...... oi! Dragon!  Stop muscling in on my humans!  They are not yours to be soppy over, remember who's the soft mule around here.... you're supposed to breathe fire not blow kisses!

Hmmm what's this?  FH says when the sun shines it's wash day.... oh dear it looks like she's making chocolate muleshake again by washing my shield of steel rug.... rather you than me.... eugh!

Dragon's off for a little walk up the lane, what's this?!  There is a mule mobile parked by the gate!  Hmmm I would view this suspiciously too Dragon......

Wait!  What are you doing Dragon!  Wandering in there is not safe!

But while you're at it that's another mulificent rearview.......

Don't worry muleteers Dragon got straight off that magic mule mobile thing - phew!  FH was saying something about taking Dragon out for the day tomorrow and letting her see her 'ride' to inspect beforehand, yep seems like she's happy.  She would prefer a prancing stallion Ferrari but this'll do I guess.... I wonder where she's off to?  Just so long as you bring her back..... preferably after we've eaten the daily grass quota ;-)

All of the action had got a little too much for Catanian who had to strike 'hot cat' poses.

Following her lead I decided that it was time for strategic sunbathing.  Must warm my body with the sun's lovely rays whilst hiding my eyes in the shade - ah bliss!

I wonder what fun tomorrow will bring? Hopefully the sun will still be shining, after all it will be Sunday!

Happy Sunny Days Friends :-)

Roller's Philosophical Friday: Optimism

My bucket is always half full and never half empty, ok so that might be because FH is constantly topping it up but that's beside the point!  I am ever the eternal optimist.  When it's cold the sun must be just around the corner, when I'm peckish the next banana peel is about to appear, when I'm sleepy my soft bed will be ready and waiting, when it's dark light must surely come?

Sometimes I have to remind my fellow creatures (including you humans) that more often than not life is positive not negative, it is there to be lived and have fun.

We Muleteers love a bit of fun and I myself am always happy to try new experiences and embrace life..... ok I might do it in my own thoughtful way but I sure do appreciate it.

So here's to fun, optimism and always making sure the bucket is full!  Here's my thought for the day :-)

Don't ever become a pessimist.... a pessimist is correct more often than an optimist, but an optimist has more fun and neither can stop the march of events!

Maybe to raise a teeny smile on this Friday here's us Muleteers up to fun stuff.... note to self that Puppy is mischievous...... I like him!

The Phantom Bed Disemboweler

Don’t look now but errmmm well my bed has met a terrible accident.....

The Phantom Bed Disemboweler Strikes!

Some naughty pixie must have crept in the house while I was asleep and disembowelled my beloved bed!
Look at my bed, it is all sad and hurt..... the Cloth Dog told me to be a good pups and not get up to mischief, I don’t know what he means?

Hey humans, come quick!  I need help!  My bed has met a terrible fate and now I am not comfy L  Look my head can’t rest on this cushion very well...
What’s that you say?  You think I did this?  Well, I take exception at that!  Look at my best innocent look.....
See butter would not melt in this handsome mouth.

What was that about sleeping on the cold, hard ground, hah yeah right, we all know you humans are soft..... in fact how about letting me sleep in your bed instead?  Just imagine what fun I could have disembowelling that!  Errm I mean the pixies.... oh dear caught out again.  Laters puppyteers!
