Roller's Philosophical Friday: New Beginnings

Dearest Muleteers!  Spring may be on the way, it's official!  I have started to shed my coat, a process which takes at least 6 months so I need to start early.  FH is starting to see us in actual daylight during the week as she just leaves as the sun is rising and is home before the fall of night - this means she can see my ponificent self much more clearly :-)

Although I am happy to see Spring just around the corner... mmmm yummy spring grass.... I am a little sad because Winter is my favourite season and I shall have to say good-bye, FH reckons we'll have more of the white stuff before my coat is finally shed though, I really hope so!  Alas it got me thinking that with every end there is a new beginning... a simple saying that sheds much light and is always worth considering when things are challenging!

From the end spring new beginnings.

  1. My dear sweet Roller, you are the seasons clockmaster!. I am a bit sad to see your ponificious coat go with springtime, you are a most striking winter gentleman. Does FH use your lovely hair to do some crafts?. I know that kitty people use cat shedded hair to make dolls and other interesting things. There is even a book on this!. Would you save a cosy scarf for me? :-)

We are in the midst of a snowstorm that might take historical proportions as two storms will collide above our heads. So, mis amigos, I, on turn, have not shedded yet my Rollerhats!.

As far as it goes here with the weather, the end of a snowstorm is the beginning of another one ;-)

Enjoy the new daylight and early springtime.

    1. Dearest Carmen, we hope you are ok in all that snow, we have seen the pictures and have been hoping that you are ok! FH leaves my ponificent hair for the birds to nest with, she says she finds it in the swallows nests in our stables!

Here's to spring and sunshine xx

  2. Roller ... you are shedding already? We donkeys don't even think about shedding for awhile yet (although maybe that's why we're a bit itchy?) We are enjoying the longer daylight too - we even get to eat our breakfast outside if it's not raining - we love picnics!

    1. I need to start early as my coat takes forever to shed. I have started on my long hairs, the first of three layers! We are all itchy too, FH says we have ants in our pants! Can't wait for spring :-)

  3. Yay for spring time! We just got hit with a bunch more snow, so I cannot wait for it to melt and the weather to warm up. Shedding fuzzy coats are a sure way to predict a coming spring :)

  6. I need to get my donkeys in and start with the curry comb on them. No shedding quite yet...I hope they keep their hair as we have many days of snow/sleet/rain/ice/winter mix yet coming.

We could only wish for Spring here! No grass until at least end of April ... maybe start or mid-May.

    1. Brrr it sounds like it's gonna be cold where you are, I hope your long ears hang on to their coats as long as possible! We are real fans of a funny brush called a furminator - it is lovely and scratchy and gets rid of all the itchy coat - brilliant for mule and donkey coats :-)
