There I was snuffling my straw and falling asleep whilst standing when I heard a sound like Catanian but then I realised it was FH singing (or trying).
"You're m-i-n-e, baby you're my favourite waste of time.... m-i-n-e...... my favourite waste of time"...apparently it's some old song that sounds a lot better when a proper human sings it! It would appear that little did I know but FH was singing it to us Muleteers. Well really... how insulting that we are a "waste of time"!
But then I pondered more (as I often do) and chatted to The Mini who just said that HE is FH's favourite waste of time... anyone would think it's something to be proud of? But then it struck me, it is! Humans are such busy creatures that having a distraction to 'waste time' on in the right way is no bad thing. I understand now FH. May we offer our services further as the perfect waste of time? Brushing, hugging, sniffing eau de pony, walking, chatting or just watching us really is the best use of your time anyway :-)

DeleteIt is animals like you Roller that teach us humans to take it slow, step back and smell the roses orrrr.... smell the manure. Brushing an equine makes your heart happy and extends human life you know.
ReplyDeleteThis is what we are convincing the world of Val, the more the humans brush us and pet us the happier they will be :-) FH loves the smell of eau de pony, we think there may be a trace of ermmmm manure in there.....hmmmmm

ReplyDeleteI think so too, and if not a Roller definitely a Shyloh, she is so magnificent you couldn't help but 'waste' ample time with her mane and tail and petting her lots, perfection!
DeleteHey Roller, totally agree my human seems happiest when she is wasting time with us and recently that means just enjoying our company while she sits in the sunshine in her rolling chair watching the world go by, while I nuzzle her neck & check her pockets out for treats!
ReplyDeleteHey Cyril! I love to pocket snuffle just to check, you never know what you might find.... often nothing but just occasionally there is a treat :-) Keep looking after your human, she'll be wasting time in other ways once she's fighting fit!!
